QPLAY ANNOUNCES PARTY QS TO MAKE SHARING VIDEOS MORE FUN

Qplay’s Expansion of Social Capabilities Creates Engaging Video Experience

San Jose, CA. (June 17, 2014) – Qplay, the new video entertainment experience, today announced Party Qs and hashtags, two new features that expand the company’s Internet video viewing service for consumers. Qplay offers unique features that no other Google Cast Ready app for short form video can match.

Qplay’s new Party Qs make viewing videos with a group of friends fun and easy. Each participant can independently add their favorite clips to the shared Q and watch as new videos are contributed. At a dinner party, users can watch the Party Q together on a TV and add new clips to the Q while it’s playing. Party Qs can be used in-person on the same WiFi network, or even across the Internet to watch videos with remote friends and family.

To use Party Qs, simply create a new Party Q, and invite your friends to add videos to the Q. Qplay will play the videos back-to-back in the order that they’re added for all viewers on iPads, Chromecasts, or Qplay TV Adapters.

Party Qs tap into the sharing qualities of the Internet to create an enjoyable social experience. We’re excited about this capability because it represents a commitment by Qplay, not just to video delivery, but to delivering unique and fun entertainment to our customers,” said Mike Ramsay, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder of Qplay.

Today, Qplay also announced the addition of Q hashtags. This new feature allows users to describe the contents of their Qs in a fun way, while also making them easier for others to search and discover. Tap any hashtag to find more Qs with similar videos. For example, a Q of soccer clips could have hashtags such as #RealFootball #worldcup and #goooooooooooooal.

Party Qs and hashtags join Qplay’s existing support for integrating social sharing with video entertainment. Qplay users can publish Qs of videos and gain followers within the community. Users can also share individual videos with their Facebook and Twitter friends, and build a lean-back viewing experience from videos aggregated from those services.
